Mayflies Do Not Need Dentists

The adult mayfly’s mouth is vestigial, as in it serves no purpose. While it lives for about year in its naiad, or immature form, once it becomes an adult and takes flight, it only lives from a few hours to a few days. Just enough time to mate. So, it has no need for food. Even its digestive system is just filled with air.
